Trump congratulated Garten, whom he had previously endorsed, saying, “Congratulations to Indiana State Senator Chris Garten on being unanimously selected by his colleagues as the next President Pro Tempore of the State Senate.”

Trump said Garten had led political efforts on his behalf and also criticized some Republican politicians in Indiana. Referring to the election process in the state, Trump said, “Chris led this effort for me.”

Trump also argued that the Indiana State Senate was in good hands under its new leadership, saying, “With Chris Garten, the Indiana State Senate is in good hands. He will never let you down.”

Trump also argued that Indiana State Senate President Rod Bray should resign, claiming that the election process in the state prevented Republicans from winning two additional seats in the House of Representatives.
