Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said after the White House talks that there was a “fundamental disagreement” with the United States over Greenland.

Rasmussen said his Wednesday meeting with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio was “frank but constructive.” However, he added that U.S. President Donald Trump’s insistence on “conquering” Greenland was “completely unacceptable.”

The Danish foreign minister said, “We made it very clear that this is not in Denmark’s interest.”

Trump later reiterated his interest in taking control of the resource-rich island, a stance that unsettled European allies and increased tensions with NATO.

Rasmussen said there are “red lines” the United States cannot cross and that the working group will meet in the coming weeks to seek a compromise. He also added that Denmark and Greenland are open to the possibility of the United States opening additional military bases on the island.

“Starting talks at a high level is productive,” he said.

Rasmussen also said there is “some truth” to Trump’s view that security needs to be strengthened against Russian and Chinese interests in the Arctic. However, he noted that the president’s comments about the presence of Russian and Chinese warships around Greenland were “not accurate.”
