Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tajani announced that he attended the Critical Minerals Summit in Washington.

Stating that he thanked U.S. Secretary of State Rubio as this meeting represents the beginning of long-term strategic cooperation between Europe, the United States and other international partners, Tajani said: “The resilience of critical raw material supply chains is an urgent challenge for our economies and for exporting countries like Italy. Economic security means the secure supply of critical minerals.”

Emphasizing that the solution lies in strong and structured industrial cooperation among partners who share the same values, Tajani said:

“We are working to promote sustainable supply, investments and infrastructure development; this also includes the Mattei Plan for Africa. Together with Germany, we have submitted a joint document to the European Commission for more effective EU action.”
