Sybiha: Strengthening Ukraine's capacity to protect its people is critical
Kyiv, September 18 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that during his meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys, they discussed the course of the war, Ukraine's defense needs and the latest developments in the peace process.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that during a phone call with his Lithuanian counterpart Kęstutis Budrys, he provided information on the situation at the front, the consequences of Russia's attacks on Ukraine and his country's urgent defense needs.
Sybiha stated that strengthening Ukraine's capacity to protect its people is critically important. The discussion also covered peace efforts and the need for Europe to be directly involved in processes concerning the future of peace in Europe and European security.
Drawing attention to the situation in the Black Sea, Sybiha said that Russia continues its attacks on ports and civilian vessels, adding that they discussed steps that could be taken to protect maritime routes and ensure safe and free navigation in the Black Sea.
Sybiha said that Ukraine and Lithuania share a common understanding of the threats they face and thanked Lithuania for its support for Ukraine and its stance.
