Rutte: NATO allies stood with the US on September 11
New York, September 11 (Hibya) - NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte commemorated those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks on the 25th anniversary of the attacks and emphasized that NATO allies stood in solidarity with the United States in their aftermath.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte issued a message on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks against the United States. Rutte said they honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the attacks.
Recalling that NATO allies acted together after the attacks, Rutte said: “In that dark moment, allies stood together. For the first and only time in NATO’s history, we invoked Article 5.”
Rutte said the friends of the United States and its NATO allies stood with the US after the September 11 attacks, adding: “We stood with you then, and we stand with you today.”
