Pezeshkian: Iran will continue to stand by Iraq
Tehran, May 15 (Hibya) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized cooperation and solidarity in a message published following the formation of the new government in Iraq and its vote of confidence from parliament.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sent a congratulatory message to Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi on the occasion of the Iraqi government taking office after receiving a vote of confidence, expressing his belief that a new era of strategic cooperation between the two countries would begin.
Referring to the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and the importance of the new era, Pezeshkian said, "I believe that in this new era, based on the deep bonds between our two peoples, we will open a new chapter in strategic cooperation."
Reiterating Iran's commitment to supporting Iraq, Pezeshkian concluded his statement by saying, "Iran will continue to stand by Iraq on the path toward strengthening development and security."
