Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Dar meets UN Secretary-General Guterres
Islamabad, March 27 (Hibya) - Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to discuss developments in West Asia and Pakistan’s regional peace efforts.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
Commenting on the meeting, Dar said: “I am very pleased to meet United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres this evening. We exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia and its implications for international peace and security.”
Referring to the UN’s role in conflict resolution, Dar stated: “I emphasized that the United Nations is indispensable for the prevention and resolution of conflicts and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to diplomacy and dialogue as the only viable path to achieving sustainable peace.”
Dar also noted that Secretary-General Guterres expressed full appreciation and support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
