Pakistan to assume presidency of Conference on Disarmament
Islamabad, August 17 (Hibya) - Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the country will assume the presidency of the Conference on Disarmament.
Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Pakistan will hold the final presidency of the United Nations Conference on Disarmament (CD) for 2026.
The statement said that during Pakistan's presidency, issues including the prevention of nuclear weapons proliferation, nuclear disarmament, the prevention of the use of nuclear weapons, and other matters related to weapons of mass destruction will be addressed.
Pakistan will also continue consultations among member states on issues on the conference's agenda and aims to contribute to international peace and security.
