New energy agreement between Greece and Ukraine
Athens, February 20 (Hibya) - A Confidentiality Implementation Document was signed in Kyiv between TERNA and Ukrhydroenergo with the online participation of Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Haris Theoharis.
An important step was taken within the framework of energy cooperation between Greece and Ukraine. On February 20, 2026, a Confidentiality Implementation Document was signed in Kyiv between the Greek company TERNA and Ukraine’s state energy company Ukrhydroenergo.
The signing ceremony was held with the online participation and speech of Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Theoharis. The document follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two sides on November 14, 2025.
Under the agreement, TERNA is expected to gain access to technical, economic and operational data related to joint projects. This step is expected to accelerate the maturation and implementation of energy projects between the two countries.
The document was signed on behalf of TERNA by Executive Director of International Development Stathis Natsis and by Ukrhydroenergo CEO Bohdan Sukhetskyi. Ukrainian Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolishnyk was also present at the ceremony.
The signing took place within the framework of the KyivBuild Ukraine 2026 fair organized in Kyiv by Enterprise Greece.
In his statement, Theoharis said the agreement strengthens relations between Greece and Ukraine, particularly in the energy sector, and affirmed that Greece will continue to support Ukraine’s reconstruction process. He also emphasized that the cooperation will contribute to energy security and deepen economic ties between the two countries.
