Netanyahu: We are imposing a lockdown on Hebron and preparing to seal off the West Bank
Tel Aviv, October 23 (Hibya) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that, following a security assessment with senior officials, he had ordered an immediate lockdown of Hebron and preparations for a complete closure across the West Bank.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement that he had conducted a security assessment with the Defense Minister, the Chief of the General Staff, the head of Shin Bet, the head of the National Security Council and the commander of Central Command.
In his statement, Netanyahu claimed that Israeli soldiers had acted decisively to prevent a major attack and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Netanyahu stated that he had instructed the Israeli military and security forces to impose an immediate lockdown on the city of Hebron and begin preparations that same day for a complete closure of the entire West Bank. He said security forces were operating with reinforcements to prevent terrorist acts and were carrying out large-scale arrest operations.
