In the Chamber of Deputies, draft resolutions concerning the government's statements ahead of the upcoming European Council were put to a vote.

Drawing attention to the voting results in parliament and the government's cohesion, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said, “This morning, the Chamber of Deputies voted on draft resolutions regarding the government's statements ahead of the upcoming European Council. The majority presented a unified text. However, the opposition submitted a different draft resolution for each party.”

Pointing out that the opposition alliance was unable to find common ground, Meloni stated, “This is quite a striking picture: when it comes to establishing a common line for Italy, our government always finds a synthesis. The so-called ‘broad camp’ cannot achieve this.”

Questioning the opposition's ability to govern, Meloni concluded her remarks by saying, “If they cannot even agree on a parliamentary resolution, it is difficult to imagine how they could prepare a budget law and govern a country together.”
