Brasilia, August 12 (Hibya) - Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced that his country is continuing its efforts to strengthen its digital sovereignty.

Lula da Silva said they met with experts at a meeting where artificial intelligence, data, digital infrastructure and ways for Brazil to develop its own capabilities in strategic technologies were discussed.
Drawing attention to Brazil's investments in artificial intelligence, Lula da Silva stated that 23 billion reais have been allocated through 2028 under the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan.
Lula da Silva said that more than 14 billion reais have already been put into implementation under this framework over the past two years.
Emphasizing the importance of technological independence in shaping the country's future, Lula da Silva said, “Sovereignty also means having the technology to determine our own future.”
