Israel approves development plan worth 4 billion Israeli shekels
Jerusalem, June 11 (Hibya) - The Israeli government has unanimously approved a Northern Region development plan worth approximately 4 billion Israeli shekels for the 2026–2030 period, presented by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
According to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, the decision approved during the government meeting held in Nof HaGalil is a continuation and complement to the support package worth approximately 18 billion shekels approved last week for communities along the border.
The statement noted that total public funding allocated to the northern region over the past week has reached approximately 22 billion shekels. The plan aims to provide comprehensive solutions for residents of cities, towns, and villages in the Galilee region and to attract new residents to the area.
The cities targeted by the plan include Safed, Acre, Nof HaGalil, Nazareth, Afula, Tiberias, and Karmiel.
