The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated that it welcomed the removal of certain harsh expressions against Palestine from the text during the European Parliament’s 2024 discharge report vote.

In the ministry’s statement, it was said: “This vote resulted in the removal of harsh wording imposed by some right-wing blocs in the European Parliament and the preservation of the original text.” It was noted that this demonstrates Europe’s recognition of the progress made in Palestine’s reform process.

The statement also emphasized that this development is the result of the State of Palestine’s diplomatic initiatives with the European Union, adding: “During this process, intensive contacts were carried out with all political groups in the European Parliament.”
