New York, November 8 (Hibya) – United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stated that the climate crisis creates a double injustice between countries and generations, calling for stronger climate action ahead of COP31.

In a statement shared on social media, Guterres said the climate crisis creates an unjust situation among countries. He emphasized that countries contributing the least to the crisis suffer the most severe consequences, also drawing attention to injustice between generations.
Guterres stated that future generations, particularly grandchildren, will pay the price for emissions released into the atmosphere today. He announced that he would attend COP31 with a call for stronger climate action.
