United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made remarks on the pace of artificial intelligence development and the risks it brings.

Stating that artificial intelligence is advancing at a pace far beyond the capacity to grasp all of its consequences, Guterres said, “But the real danger is not the technology.”

Guterres said the danger lies in technology without accountability, capabilities without oversight and decision-making processes without transparency, drawing attention to these elements.

Guterres concluded his remarks by saying, “Artificial intelligence must be shaped by humanity, with humanity and for all humanity.”
