United Nations (UN) Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher referred to the scale of civilian casualties and mass displacement in the region.

Addressing the toll of the attacks and the situation on the ground, Fletcher said, “More than 100 attacks were carried out against Lebanon within 24 hours. Civilians were killed. Families were displaced.”

Noting that humanitarian aid efforts continue but that the ultimate solution requires political will, Fletcher stated, “We are doing everything we can to deliver support to those in need. But what people need most is a real ceasefire.”
