In a statement shared on his social media account, Plenkovic said the meeting focused on protecting democratic values, safeguarding human rights and the importance of the rule of law.

The meeting also reviewed current challenges facing Europe, particularly Russia's aggression against Ukraine, migration and increasingly complex hybrid threats.

Highlighting the 30th anniversary of Croatia's membership in the Council of Europe, Plenkovic stated that his country had undergone a significant transformation in institutional development and European integration over the past three decades.
