Costa: We are deeply saddened by the death of the French soldier
Brussels, March 13 (Hibya) - European Council President Antonio Costa issued a message of solidarity with France and the wounded soldiers following the death of Arnaud Frion near Erbil in Iraq.
European Council President Costa stated that France is mourning after French non-commissioned officer Arnaud Frion lost his life in an attack in the Erbil region of northern Iraq. Costa conveyed his condolences to Frion’s family, his comrades-in-arms and the wounded soldiers.
The president also stated that Iranian attacks against our partners in the region and the European forces serving alongside them are unacceptable, calling for the conflict to be stopped immediately and for tensions to be urgently de-escalated.
