Costa: Drug trafficking is a social and security problem for Europe
Brussels, May 4 (Hibya) - President of the European Council Antonio Costa emphasized the importance of global cooperation in combating drug trafficking and use.
President of the European Council Antonio Costa made assessments on the impact of the drug problem across Europe and possible solutions.
Drawing attention to the scope of the issue, Costa said, “Drug trafficking and the illegal use of drugs are a serious health, social and security problem facing Europe.”
Costa stated, “To tackle these problems, we need coordinated action at local, national, EU and international levels.”
Thanking the leaders who organized the meeting, Costa said, “Thank you, Emmanuel Macron and Giorgia Meloni, for organizing this meeting of the European Coalition Against Drugs within the framework of the European Political Community (EPC).”
