Ottawa, February 17 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney celebrated the Lunar New Year of East and Southeast Asian communities.
Canadian Prime Minister Carney celebrated the Lunar New Year of East and Southeast Asian communities in Canada and around the world and welcomed the Year of the Horse.
The Lunar New Year is a time of renewal, Carney said, adding, "It is a moment when family and friends come together to celebrate and look to the future with hope. It reminds us to reflect on the moments that bring us joy and the people who give meaning to our lives."
Carney noted that this period is also an opportunity to recognize the contributions of Asian Canadian communities who help build Canada as entrepreneurs, innovators, artists, and community leaders, stating, "The Year of the Horse symbolizes energy, determination, and progress; these are core values for Canada and reflect the spirit of Asian Canadian communities’ contributions to a stronger shared future."
