Canada condemns Iran's attacks on Gulf states: A dangerous escalation
Ottawa, July 9 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand condemned Iran's recent attacks against Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, saying they threaten regional security and stability.
In a post on social media, Anand said: "Canada strongly condemns Iran's recent attacks against Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar."
Anand said she remains in contact with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, stressing that the attacks "represent a dangerous escalation" and threaten security across the region.
She also said she is visiting Saudi Arabia together with the Prime Minister of Canada and added that Canada will continue working with the Gulf states and its partners in the international community to help reduce tensions.
Anand said: "We are committed to working with our partners to support lasting peace and security. We stand in solidarity with our partners in Jordan and across the Gulf."
