Caine: This blockade applies to all vessels regardless of nationality
Washington, April 16 (Hibya) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, Dan Caine, stated that the blockade imposed on Iranian ports applies to all vessels regardless of nationality.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, Dan Caine, shared details regarding the scope and areas of implementation of the operation.
Speaking about the limits of the blockade, Caine said: “I want to make this absolutely clear: this blockade applies to all vessels entering or leaving Iranian ports, regardless of nationality.”
Stating that the action concerns Iran’s coastline, Caine said: “The U.S. action is not a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, but a blockade of Iranian ports and coastline.”
Caine concluded: “The implementation will take place in Iran’s territorial waters and in international waters.”
