Al Thani: We hope the decision will help end the suffering of Palestinians
Doha, July 31 (Hibya) – Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed the roadmap for the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement during a phone call with Hamas Political Bureau Chief Khalil al-Hayya.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Al Thani congratulated Al-Hayya on assuming the position of head of Hamas’ Political Bureau and wished him success.
The statement said Al Thani welcomed Hamas’ acceptance of the roadmap for completing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. “We hope this decision will help end the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza and fulfill their aspirations for security and stability,” it said.
Al Thani also stressed that the international community should pressure Israel to fulfill its obligations under the agreement and end its violations of the rights of the Palestinian people.
