Zelensky: Despite the war, we continue to develop Ukrainian science
Kyiv, February 6 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated scientists on the 30th anniversary of raising the Ukrainian flag at the Akademik Vernadsky Antarctic Station, emphasizing that scientific achievements continue even under wartime conditions.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with scientists on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s presence in Antarctica.
Stressing the importance of scientific continuity, Zelensky said: “Today marks the 30th anniversary of hoisting Ukraine’s national flag at the Akademik Vernadsky Antarctic Station. Despite the war — even in the midst of it — we continue to develop Ukrainian science.”
Zelensky added: “This is extremely important for us: we have people and achievements we can be proud of. Ukrainian researchers and scientists not only help ensure global respect for our country, but also make a significant contribution to the development of our national science.”
Sharing details of the online meeting, Zelensky concluded: “I spoke online with members of the 30th Ukrainian Antarctic Expedition and congratulated them on this important achievement. Participants of previous Ukrainian expeditions who stood up to defend Ukraine after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion also joined the meeting.”
