Following the swearing-in of the new cabinet led by Rob Jetten in the Netherlands, handover ceremonies were held at the ministries. Dilan Yeşilgöz took over the position from her predecessor Ruben Brekelmans.

Emphasizing continuity in defense policies and the importance attached to the armed forces, Yeşilgöz said, "It is a great honor to take over the position from Ruben Brekelmans. I express my deep respect for his dedication."

Stating that she will continue her work, Yeşilgöz added, “He leaves behind an army ready to make the Netherlands stronger. Together with our armed forces, I will continue to build a country that stands firmly on its own feet.”
