Wong: Putin and Russian authorities responsible for Navalny’s death
Canberra, February 16 (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong stated on the second anniversary of Alexei Navalny’s death that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian authorities are responsible.
In her statement marking the second anniversary of Navalny’s death, Wong said two years had passed since his “tragic death” and added: “We respectfully honor his courage and resistance against Putin’s oppressive regime.”
“Australia holds Mr. Putin and the Russian authorities responsible for Navalny’s death. We stand in solidarity with those who bravely fight to defend human rights in Russia,” Wong said.
The statement emphasized that Australia considers Vladimir Putin and Russian authorities accountable for Navalny’s death and will continue to support human rights defenders.
