Wadephul: The foundations of friendship between Germany and South Africa were laid 30 years ago
Berlin, July 24 (Hibya) - German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation in the face of global geopolitical developments.
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, in a statement following his meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, emphasized the historical depth of relations between the two countries.
Highlighting the roots of the friendship between the two nations, Wadephul said: "The foundations of friendship between Germany and South Africa were laid 30 years ago by Helmut Kohl and Nelson Mandela."
Expressing his satisfaction with the meeting, Wadephul concluded: "Mr. President Cyril Ramaphosa, it was a great honor to exchange views with you on how we can further develop this foundation and strengthen the ties between our nations during a period of geopolitical turbulence."
