In a statement, von der Leyen said that the European Union (EU) believes in the future of the South Caucasus and supports the development of a region that is "connected, peaceful, and prosperous."
Emphasizing that the main purpose of the visit was to deepen the EU-Azerbaijan partnership, von der Leyen highlighted trade, transport, energy, and economic cooperation as key areas of focus.
