In a statement shared on social media, von der Leyen emphasized the EU's full support for Ukraine’s struggle for survival, its recovery efforts, and its path toward EU membership.
Von der Leyen also wished former Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal success in his new role as Minister of Defense, highlighting the importance of the critical role he will play in Ukraine’s defense.
