Trump: We ended 8 wars, the 9th is on the way
Washington, February 19 (Hibya) – United States (US) President Donald Trump spoke at the first meeting of the Peace Council convened with the Gaza agenda. Trump said they had ended 8 wars and believed the 9th was on the way.
Some highlights from US President Trump’s speech:
“What we are doing is very simple. Our goal is peace. The leaders here with us have been truly very helpful. We achieved an unprecedented success in the history of our country. We ended 8 wars and we think the 9th is on the way. I thought it might be the easiest, but when it comes to war you never know. We have very good relationships and have developed great relations with so many people. The Peace Council is truly one of our most important projects.
I am truly honored to host you at the first meeting of the Peace Council at the United States Institute of Peace. I don’t think there is a community of world leaders that comes close to this in terms of power and prestige.
There is nothing more important than peace. In fact, there is nothing less expensive than peace. Because when you fight, you spend hundreds of times more than when you make peace.
Iran is a very hot spot right now. There are good relations with Iran’s representatives. Good talks are taking place. In recent years we have seen that it is difficult to make a meaningful agreement, but we must make one or bad things will happen.
There have always been dark clouds over the Middle East. As long as that threat existed, there would be no peace. Countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar would remain under its shadow. And there would be no peace in the Middle East. Maybe we need to take it a step further. Or maybe we won’t. We may reach an agreement within the next 10 days.
When I took office, it looked like the deaths in Gaza would never end. But with the determined approach of the countries in this hall, we have reached this point. There are truly the signatures of 59 countries.
The war in Gaza is over, maybe there are small flare-ups. They said they would lay down their arms, and if they do not, they will face great toughness. People do not want to die, and they do not want to die either. The ceasefire continues. All hostages, dead or alive, have been returned.
We want to thank all the nations that helped us on this issue. We saved countless lives. We brought peace and the concept of peace. No one even imagined it. I was always told that peace in the Middle East was impossible. Of course, there are things we must do regarding Iran. They cannot have a nuclear weapon. If Iran has a nuclear weapon, there will be no peace in the Middle East. We said very strongly that they will not be able to have one.
After the October ceasefire, the US and its allies ensured the entry of large amounts of humanitarian aid into Gaza. In November, after the UN Security Council unanimously adopted the Peace Council, we added more than two dozen founding members. We are in close cooperation with the UN.
Together we will ensure that Gaza is properly governed. Even countries with nothing to do with the Middle East are involved. They constantly tell me, ‘We will send troops if necessary,’ but we think it will not be necessary. Two countries want to go in, and one or two said they want to clash with Hamas, but it won’t be necessary. Hamas will hand over its weapons. There will be no need to fight.
My goal is to save lives. I have only one thing on my mind: I do not want to see people being killed.
The United States will also contribute 10 billion dollars to the Peace Council. I am honored to announce this.”
