United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer evaluated the situation of British citizens on board the vessel and the risk analysis of the outbreak for public health.

Referring to the process carried out for the evacuation and safety of citizens, Starmer said, “I stand with those affected by the hantavirus outbreak on the MV Hondius.”

Starmer stated, “We are working closely with international partners to support British citizens on board and are making plans to ensure they can safely continue their journey.”

Emphasizing the level of risk to public health, Prime Minister Starmer said, “The risk to the general public remains very low – protecting the British people is our top priority.”
