Saidov: We will strengthen political dialogue and economic cooperation with South Africa
Tashkent, October 1 (Hibya) - Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a phone call with South Africa's Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola.

Saidov said South Africa is one of Uzbekistan's important partners on the African continent, noting that positive momentum has developed in bilateral relations.
During the call, concrete steps to intensify political dialogue, expand trade and investment relations, and develop joint projects were discussed. Saidov said they also attach particular importance to cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement, which Uzbekistan will chair from 2027 to 2029, and that they expect South Africa to participate actively in events to be held during this period.
Saidov also stated that the launch of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the development of the bilateral legal framework were discussed. The parties reportedly agreed to meet face to face in the near future to advance the initiatives discussed.
