Saar: Israel and Hungary have long-standing relations
Jerusalem, April 16 (Hibya) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar held a meeting with Hungarian Foreign Minister-designate Anita Orban following the elections in Hungary.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar evaluated the change of power in Hungary and the new government’s commitment to combating antisemitism.
Sharing details of the meeting, Saar said: "I had a warm meeting with Hungary’s Foreign Minister-designate Anita Orban. I congratulated the victory of TISZA in the Hungarian elections and her appointment as foreign minister."
Referring to the stance of the new government, Saar stated: "We appreciate Prime Minister-designate Peter Magyar’s commitment to continuing Hungary’s tradition of combating antisemitism and protecting the Jewish community."
Emphasizing the importance of ties between the two countries, Saar said: "Israel and Hungary have long-standing and excellent bilateral diplomatic relations, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen them. We agreed to meet shortly after the new government is sworn in."
