Qatar emphasizes freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz
Doha, April 17 (Hibya) - Qatar supported maritime security and the protection of international law at the Strait of Hormuz meeting hosted by France and the United Kingdom.
Qatar participated in the international meeting on freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The meeting, hosted via videoconference by French President Emmanuel Macron and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, focused on maritime security.
According to a statement from Doha, Qatar was represented at the meeting by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi.
During the meeting, full diplomatic support for ensuring unrestricted and safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz was reaffirmed. Participants also emphasized the importance of upholding international law.
It was also stated that the security of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz is critical for maintaining regional stability and ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of global trade.
