Qatar condemns attacks in Erbil: A clear violation of international law
Doha, August 18 (Hibya) - Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the targeting of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the residence of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency in Erbil. Doha said the attacks violated the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement regarding the targeting of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the residence of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency in Erbil.
Qatar described the attacks as “a clear violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq” and “a blatant violation of the rules of international law.”
The ministry emphasized the need to protect the region from the consequences of these attacks and to continue the process of dialogue, diplomacy and de-escalation.
The statement said this approach would contribute to strengthening security and stability at the regional and international levels.
Qatar expressed its full solidarity with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and said it supports all measures taken by both sides to protect their sovereignty and security.
