Prevot discussed bilateral relations with Congo
Brussels, March 12 (Hibya) - Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Maxime Prevot discussed the current situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and cooperation issues with Congo’s Foreign Minister Therese Kayikwamba Wagner.
Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Prevot evaluated the relations between the two countries and multilateral agenda topics during his meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of Congo, Therese Kayikwamba Wagner. The situation in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo was particularly highlighted during the meeting.
During the meeting, Prevot emphasized four important points: that commitments made in Doha and Washington must be fulfilled by all parties; that Belgium and the European Union support the African Union and Angola initiative; that the geological archives at the AfricaMuseum will be digitized and shared with the Congolese people; and that Congo plays a critical role in defending multilateralism and international law at the United Nations Security Council.
Prevot thanked Kayikwamba Wagner for the sincere and constructive meeting.
