Pezeşkiyan: History is full of those who paid the price for remaining silent in the face of criminals
Tehran, April 3 (Hibya) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeşkiyan stated that threats of total destruction against a nation constitute a grave war crime under international law and warned that remaining silent in the face of such crimes carries historical consequences.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeşkiyan made legal and political assessments regarding regional tensions and threats to Iran’s civilian infrastructure.
Drawing attention to the nature of the threats, Pezeşkiyan said: "Does threatening to send an entire nation back to the Stone Age mean anything other than a grave war crime? I posed this question to my Finnish colleague, who is a lawyer."
Emphasizing the responsibility of the international community, President Pezeşkiyan concluded: "History is full of those who paid a heavy price for remaining silent in the face of criminals."
