Netanyahu: The state budget will strengthen security and public services
Jerusalem, March 31 (Hibya) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the newly approved state budget includes significant increases in resources across many areas, from security to education.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that an additional 32 billion shekels have been allocated to security spending within the budget. He noted that these funds are intended to provide the necessary means for the Israel Defense Forces and security institutions to continue their operations.
Netanyahu announced that 5 billion shekels have been allocated for the reconstruction of settlements around Gaza and in the north, and 6 billion shekels for reservists. He also noted that since the beginning of the war, total allocations to these areas have reached 30 billion and 20 billion shekels, respectively.
Netanyahu stated that approximately 6.7 billion shekels have been allocated to education, 4.3 billion to the healthcare system, and 1.8 billion to social services. He also reported that 7.4 billion shekels have been allocated for the development of transportation infrastructure and the support of public transportation.
He also said that adjustments will be made to income tax brackets and that reforms aimed at increasing competition among small banks are planned, along with a multi-year investment plan of 5 billion shekels in artificial intelligence, high technology, and digitalization.
Referring to the goals of the budget, Netanyahu said: “This budget strengthens security, makes life easier for citizens, invests in peripheral regions, and moves Israel forward even during wartime.” He also thanked Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and coalition members for their contribution to the adoption of the budget.
