Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva highlighted the importance of protecting the oceans during an event held as part of World Oceans Day.

In his remarks, Lula stated that the documentary “Oceans”, produced by British documentarian David Attenborough, was screened on Monday in observance of World Oceans Day. He noted that the documentary demonstrates the critical role oceans play in humanity’s future and emphasizes the urgency of protecting these ecosystems.

Lula stressed that protecting the oceans means protecting life, the climate, biodiversity, and future generations, and called for greater environmental awareness and responsibility in order to build a more sustainable future.
