Lula: We reduced taxes to zero and increased inspections to prevent price hikes
Brasília, April 14 (Hibya) – Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced that measures have been taken against the impact of developments in the Middle East on fuel prices.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva made a statement regarding the effects of the war in the Middle East on global fuel prices.
Lula said, “The war in the Middle East is affecting fuel prices worldwide. The Brazilian government did not remain inactive. We reduced taxes to zero, helped lower costs, and increased inspections to prevent excessive price hikes.”
Calling on citizens, Lula said, “If you see excessive prices, report them.”
Lula also stated that thanks to the measures taken, Brazil is among the countries least affected by this process, adding, “The Brazilian government stands by its people.”
