Lahbib: The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is reaching a critical point
Brussels, April 14 (Hibya) – European Union Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib drew attention to the scale of the deepening humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
European Union Commissioner for Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib spoke about the seriousness of the humanitarian situation in the region and the difficulties in accessing basic needs.
Assessing the situation in the region, Lahbib said, “The humanitarian crisis in Yemen is reaching a critical point.”
Lahbib said, “More than 22 million people have to spend another day without adequate food, clean water, or basic health services. After 11 years of conflict, families are exhausted and struggling to sustain their livelihoods.”
Emphasizing the necessity of humanitarian aid and the responsibility of the international community, Lahbib said, “The needs are enormous. We cannot turn a blind eye.”
