Lahbib: The EU launches its first Anti-Racism Strategy
Brussels, March 21 (Hibya) - European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management Hadja Lahbib highlighted the importance of the European Union’s first strategy to combat hate crimes and inequality on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Lahbib stated that this year’s commemoration has special significance due to the European Union’s new strategic steps.
Emphasizing the EU’s commitment to fighting racism, Lahbib said: “The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is particularly meaningful this year. The EU has launched its first Anti-Racism Strategy to fundamentally tackle hate crimes, prejudice and inequality.”
Lahbib noted that ongoing efforts must translate into concrete results, adding: “We now have the opportunity to turn this momentum into lasting change.”
