Kallas: Kajsa Ollongren to become Secretary-General of the European External Action Service
Brussels, June 24 (Hibya) - European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas announced that Dutch politician Kajsa Ollongren will be appointed as the new Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS).
In her statement, EU High Representative Kaja Kallas said that Dutch politician Kajsa Ollongren has nearly 30 years of experience in public service, diplomacy, and institutional management.
Recalling that Ollongren previously served as the Netherlands’ Minister of Defence, Minister of the Interior, and Secretary-General of the Ministry of General Affairs, Kallas noted that this experience would be a significant advantage in her new role.
Kallas stated, “Her leadership will be a major asset in addressing the challenges ahead,” adding that she looks forward to working with her.
