Jerusalem, June 28 (Hibya) – Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced that he has traveled to Romania for an official visit at the invitation of Romanian President Nicușor Dan.

Herzog said he would begin his visit in Iași, stating: "We will attend the ceremony marking the 85th anniversary of one of the Holocaust's most horrific pogroms and a memorial event for the victims of the death trains. We will also bury the recently discovered remains of several victims in accordance with Jewish tradition."
Herzog added that he would meet with the Romanian President and other state officials in Bucharest. "I will address the joint session of the Romanian Parliament on behalf of the State of Israel and the Jewish people. I also look forward to meeting the Jewish community of Romania, which serves as a living bridge between our peoples," he said.
