Hang Seng declines, Nikkei closes lower
Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 index ended the day with a slight decline of 0.16 percent at 66,208.00 points.
The Hang Seng index, the benchmark of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, fell 333.49 points, or 1.30 percent, to 25,233.50 points, making it the worst-performing market in the region. In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 index declined 0.24 percent to 9,054.50 points.
India and Indonesia stood out on the positive side in the region. In India, the Nifty 50 index closed flat-to-positive with a limited gain of 0.02 percent at 24,085.75 points, while Indonesia's IDX Composite index rose 0.60 percent to 6,564.51 points.
