Greece: We are closely monitoring the situation in Al Suqaylabiyah with concern
Athens, March 28 (Hibya) - Greece announced that it is closely following the events in the Syrian city of Al Suqaylabiyah and called on the government to swiftly implement the investigation.
The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is monitoring with concern the developments in the Syrian city of Al Suqaylabiyah, which is predominantly inhabited by Greek Orthodox Christians. The ministry referred to the investigation launched by the Syrian government regarding the incidents and called for its swift implementation.
Greece reiterated its call for a peaceful and inclusive transition process that guarantees the rights of all Syrians regardless of their religious or ethnic background. It also emphasized that Christians are a historical and integral part of Syrian society, stating its readiness to support Syria’s recovery process and to await the results of the investigation.
