World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus met with the Secretary-General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), Indra Mani Pandey.

Ghebreyesus said about the meeting:

"We discussed our joint commitment to advancing universal health coverage, primary healthcare, and traditional medicine in Southeast Asia and worldwide. We also discussed the draft Pandemic Agreement, adopted by WHO member states, and the historic opportunity it presents for preparing, preventing, and intervening in future pandemics, particularly within the framework of the One Health approach."
