European stock indexes ended the day mostly lower, while some national indexes outperformed and closed in positive territory.

In Germany, the DAX Index fell 210.25 points, or 0.80 percent, to 26,128.36 points. During the day, the index reached a high of 26,292.95 and a low of 26,119.54 points.

In France, the CAC 40 Index dropped 70.24 points, or 0.82 percent, to 8,509.36 points. During the session, it tested a high of 8,578.10, while the lowest level recorded was 8,509.36 points.

In the United Kingdom, the FTSE 100 Index rose 7.74 points, or 0.07 percent, to 10,728.04 points. The index traded between 10,701.69 and 10,779.85 points throughout the day.

The Euro Stoxx 50 Index, a benchmark for the euro area, declined 61.60 points, or 0.94 percent, to 6,468.85 points. Intraday trading saw a high of 6,518.75 and a low of 6,463.85 points.

In Spain, the IBEX 35 Index fell 47.00 points, or 0.24 percent, to 19,934.90 points. The index reached a high of 20,074.00 and a low of 19,929.00 points during the day.

In the Netherlands, the AEX Index fell 7.48 points, or 0.67 percent, to 1,107.32 points, while intraday trading ranged between a high of 1,115.15 and a low of 1,106.71 points.

In Switzerland, the SMI Index gained 18.51 points, or 0.13 percent, to 14,320.90 points, while Portugal's PSI Index rose 85.29 points, or 0.93 percent, to 9,305.02 points.
