EU takes new legal step in fight against corruption
Brussels, April 29 (Hibya) – European Parliament President Roberta Metsola described the implementation of the Anti-Corruption Directive as “a major step forward.” Metsola stated that the regulation would contribute to strengthening harmonized criminal law across the European Union.
Metsola emphasized that the regulation represents “an important step from a proposal by the European Parliament to common rules that will be applied across all EU member states.” The new directive aims to establish a stronger and more unified framework for combating corruption.
The statement also thanked the rapporteur and Members of the European Parliament who contributed to the process, with Metsola saying: “We are grateful to everyone who worked tirelessly to implement these new rules.”
